Halloween Dirt Pudding

Equipment

  • 1 Electric mixer or whisk
  • 1 food processor or rolling pin
  • 1 9x13-inch serving dish or trifle bowl
  • 1 Rubber spatula
  • 8 Small cups or bowls optional for individual servings

Ingredients
  

  • 15 ounces Oreos crushed
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3.4 ounces instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 ounces whipped topping thawed
  • 1 cup gummy worms

Instructions
 

  • Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk until thickened.
  • Stir the vanilla extract into the pudding mixture.
  • Fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
  • Gently fold the whipped topping into the mixture until fully incorporated.
  • Layer half of the crushed Oreos in the bottom of a 9x13-inch serving dish.
  • Spread the pudding mixture over the Oreo layer evenly.
  • Top with the remaining crushed Oreos.
  • Decorate the top with gummy worms, pressing them slightly into the cookie crumbs.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For an extra spooky touch, you can add plastic spiders or tombstone candy decorations on top before serving. If you prefer individual servings, layer the pudding mixture and Oreo crumbs in small cups or bowls. This dessert can be made a day in advance, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.
