Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 Steaming basket
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 sharp knife

Ingredients

  • 250 grams ground pork
  • 50 grams green onions finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 30 dumpling wrappers
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  • Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  • Place a dumpling wrapper on a flat surface and spoon 1 tablespoon of the pork mixture into the center.
  • Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper.
  • Fold the wrapper in half to enclose the filling and press the edges firmly to seal.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Arrange the dumplings in the skillet, flat side down, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
  • Add 1/4 cup water to the skillet and cover with a lid to steam for 5-6 minutes or until the water evaporates.
  • Remove the lid and continue cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes to crisp up the bottoms.
  • Transfer the dumplings to a steaming basket and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

When sealing the dumplings, ensure there are no air pockets to prevent them from bursting during cooking. You can freeze uncooked dumplings for future use by placing them on a tray in a single layer until frozen, then transferring them to a freezer bag. Adjust the filling ingredients to your taste by adding mushrooms or cabbage for additional flavor and texture.
