  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch pie crust unbaked
  • 1 3/4 cups canned pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree and brown sugar.
  • Add the eggs to the mixture and whisk until well combined.
  • Gradually add the evaporated milk while stirring.
  • Mix in the ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, and salt.
  • Roll out the pie crust and fit it into the pie dish.
  • Pour the pumpkin filling into the prepared pie crust.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  • Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for another 40 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let the pie cool on a wire rack.
  • Allow the pie to rest for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For a perfectly smooth pie filling, make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before mixing. If you like a spicier pie, consider adding a pinch of cloves or cardamom to the filling. To prevent the crust from browning too much, cover the edges with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.
