  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 sharp knife
  • 1 pastry brush
  • 1 Parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 6 slice bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to a rectangle.
  • Brush the rolled-out pastry with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle bacon evenly over the pastry.
  • Spread the Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses over the bacon.
  • Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the cheese layer.
  • Roll the pastry tightly into a log shape starting from a long edge.
  • Slice the log into 1-inch thick pinwheels using a sharp knife.
  • Arrange the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until the pinwheels are puffed and golden brown.
  • Let the pinwheels rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure that the puff pastry is appropriately thawed and rolled evenly to avoid uneven cooking. You can also experiment with different cheese blends or add a hint of garlic powder for an extra flavor boost. Serve warm for the best taste experience, and consider pairing with a light dipping sauce, such as marinara, for an added Italian touch.
