Ingredients

  • 250 grams ground pork
  • 1 cup cabbage finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 24 dumpling wrappers

Instructions

  • Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  • Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of a dumpling wrapper.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold to seal.
  • Repeat the process until all wrappers are filled and sealed.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Arrange the dumplings in the pan, flat side down.
  • Cook the dumplings for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
  • Add 1/4 cup of water to the pan and cover with a lid.
  • Steam the dumplings for 5-6 minutes until the water evaporates.
  • Remove the lid and continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes to crisp the bottoms.
  • Transfer the dumplings to a serving plate and rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For the best results, ensure that your dumpling wrappers are fresh and pliable to prevent tearing when sealing. Adjust the seasoning in the filling to suit your taste, and feel free to experiment with additional ingredients such as chopped scallions or mushrooms. Serve the dumplings with a dipping sauce made from soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili oil for an authentic touch.
