Equipment

  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk or spoon
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Plastic wrap or lid
  • 1 serving bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 packet Knorr vegetable recipe mix about 1.4 ounces
  • 1 cup fresh spinach finely optional; chopped
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts finely optional; chopped
  • 3 tablespoon green onions finely optional; sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 1 round bread loaf hollowed optional; for serving

Instructions

  • Add sour cream and mayonnaise to the mixing bowl.
  • Whisk the sour cream and mayonnaise together until smooth and well combined.
  • Sprinkle the Knorr vegetable recipe mix over the mixture.
  • Stir thoroughly until the seasoning mix is evenly distributed.
  • Add the chopped spinach, water chestnuts, and green onions if using.
  • Stir again until all the vegetables are evenly mixed into the dip.
  • Season with ground black pepper and mix to combine.
  • Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or a lid.
  • Refrigerate the dip for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to blend.
  • If serving in a bread bowl, hollow out the center of the bread loaf just before serving.
  • Spoon the chilled dip into the bread bowl or serving bowl.
  • Serve with bread cubes, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

For best flavor, prepare the dip a few hours or even a day in advance so the dried vegetables fully rehydrate and the seasonings meld; stir the dip again just before serving to redistribute any liquid that may have separated, adjust consistency with a spoonful of mayonnaise or sour cream if it becomes too thick, and keep it chilled until serving to maintain both taste and food safety—especially if serving outdoors or at parties.
