Equipment

  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 zester
  • 1 measuring spoon set

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces fish fillets deboned
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter divided
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 lemon juiced and zested
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Pat the fish fillets dry with a paper towel and season them with salt and black pepper.
  • Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the fish fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the fish from the skillet and set it aside on a plate to rest.
  • In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  • Stir in the lemon juice and zest, whisking to combine with the garlic butter sauce.
  • Pour the lemon butter sauce over the cooked fish fillets.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

To ensure the fish fillets remain tender and flavorful, avoid overcooking them as they can become dry. Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor, and make sure to zest the lemon before juicing it to maximize its aromatic oils. If the sauce becomes too thick, you can add a splash of water or white wine to thin it out to your desired consistency.
