Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix the ingredients until well combined but avoid overmixing.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty.
  • Heat a medium frying pan over medium heat and add a little oil.
  • Sear each patty for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  • Transfer the patties to a baking sheet.
  • Top each patty with a half tablespoon of ketchup.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and let the patties rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure that the patties are consistently sized to allow even cooking. If desired, you can add additional spices or herbs to the meat mixture for extra flavor. If using a thermometer, the internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C) to ensure the patties are cooked thoroughly.
