  • 1 Medium saucepan
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 Spatula

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  • Add ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and yellow mustard into a medium saucepan.
  • Whisk the mixture to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
  • Sprinkle in the garlic powder and onion powder, and whisk again until smooth.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the sauce to a simmer.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and let the sauce rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Serve over your favorite meatloaf and enjoy.

Notes

For the best results, taste the sauce while it simmers and adjust the sweetness or tanginess by adding extra brown sugar or mustard according to your preference. Stirring frequently will ensure that the sugar dissolves completely and that the sauce does not stick to the pan. This meatloaf sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
