Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Loaf pan
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 chopping board
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, oatmeal, milk, egg, onion, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix the ingredients until they are well blended.
  • Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan, pressing down to shape it evenly.
  • In a small bowl, mix ketchup and Worcestershire sauce together.
  • Spread the ketchup mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve warm with your choice of side dishes.

Notes

For best results, ensure the oatmeal is evenly mixed into the meat mixture to maintain moisture and prevent the meatloaf from drying out. If you prefer a slightly sweeter glaze, you can add a tablespoon of brown sugar to the ketchup and Worcestershire sauce mixture. Always allow the meatloaf to rest before cutting to keep it intact and juicy.
