  • 1 silicone or wooden spatula
  • 1 measuring cup set
  • 1 measuring spoon set
  • 1 plastic wrap or airtight container
  • 1 serving bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked bacon bits finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds toasted
  • 4 stalks green onions thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Instructions

  • Add the mayonnaise to a medium mixing bowl.
  • Stir in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese until evenly combined.
  • Add the cooked bacon bits and mix until distributed throughout the dip.
  • Fold in the toasted sliced almonds.
  • Add the thinly sliced green onions, reserving a small handful for garnish if desired.
  • Sprinkle in the garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • Stir everything together with a spatula until the mixture is smooth and uniform.
  • Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or transfer the dip to an airtight container.
  • Refrigerate the dip for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Before serving, stir the dip, transfer to a serving bowl, and garnish with reserved green onions if using.

Notes

For best flavor, let the dip chill longer (even overnight) so the bacon, cheese, and aromatics fully infuse the mayonnaise base; use full-fat mayonnaise and freshly shredded cheddar for the creamiest texture and best melt-in-your-mouth feel, and make sure the bacon is well-drained and crisp so it stays crunchy in the dip. Toasting the almonds deepens their nuttiness and keeps them from getting soggy, and you can easily adjust the seasonings to taste or add a pinch of cayenne for heat. Serve this dip well-chilled with sturdy dippers like crackers, crostini, sliced baguette, or fresh vegetables, and keep it refrigerated, returning it to the fridge within 2 hours of serving for food safety.
