  • 1 Measuring spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 Large Granny Smith apples peeled and cored
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 can Mountain Dew soda 12 ounces

  • Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
  • Remove the pan from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Pour the butter mixture evenly over the apple dumplings.
  • Sprinkle ground cinnamon over the top.
  • Pour the Mountain Dew around the edges of the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow the dumplings to rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use Granny Smith apples as their tartness complements the sweetness of the dish. Ensure the crescent roll dough is fully sealed around the apple wedges to prevent any leaking during baking. Feel free to adjust the amount of cinnamon to suit your taste, and serve the dumplings warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.
