Equipment

  • 1 Baking dish 9x13 inch
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 peeler
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 measuring cup set
  • 1 Measuring spoons set
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 6 cup apples peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and diced

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Peel and slice the apples, then place them in the baking dish.
  • Drizzle lemon juice over the apples and toss to coat.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Add the diced butter to the dry ingredients and mix until crumbly.
  • Spread the crumbly mixture evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
  • Remove the apple crisp from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider adding a splash of vanilla extract to the apple mixture before baking. If you prefer a sweeter dessert, you can increase the amount of brown sugar in the topping. To ensure the topping is evenly distributed, use your fingers to crumble it over the apples. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
