Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Loaf pan
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Mixing spoon
  • 1 measuring cup set

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, onion soup mix, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, water, black pepper, and salt.
  • Mix all ingredients well until fully combined.
  • Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan and shape it evenly.
  • Place the loaf pan on a baking sheet to catch any drips.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

For best results, avoid over-mixing the meatloaf mixture as it could result in a denser texture. You can add a glaze of ketchup or barbecue sauce on top before baking for extra flavor. If you like a moist meatloaf, consider adding a small amount of milk or beef broth to the mixture.
