  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 pint fresh oysters with liquor

  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  • Pour in the whole milk and heavy cream, stirring well.
  • Add the fresh oysters along with their liquor into the saucepan.
  • Season the stew with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  • Cook until the oysters curl at the edges, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let the stew rest for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Ensure that the oysters are fresh for the best flavor, and do not overcook them as they can become tough. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste, and consider serving the stew with some crusty bread for a complete meal experience.
