Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch baking dish
  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Silicone spatula
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 4 cup fresh peaches peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.
  • Let the peaches sit for about 10 minutes to release their juices.
  • Pour the melted butter into the bottom of the 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.
  • Gradually add the milk and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish, but do not stir.
  • Spoon the peaches and their juices evenly over the batter.
  • Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top of the peaches.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the batter has set.
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For the best results, use ripe and juicy peaches to enhance the flavor of the cobbler. If fresh peaches are not available, canned or frozen peaches can be a suitable substitute, just make sure to drain them well. Serving peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream can add a delightful contrast to the warm dessert.
