Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 4 cup Peaches peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg ground

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease the baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  • Press half of the dough mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  • In another bowl, mix peaches with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Spread the peach mixture evenly over the dough layer in the pan.
  • Crumble the remaining dough over the top of the peaches.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  • Allow the bars to cool in the baking pan for at least 30 minutes before cutting and serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider using ripe, fresh peaches for the best results. If fresh peaches are unavailable, canned peaches can be used but make sure to drain them well. These bars can be served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or allowed to cool completely for a firmer texture. Adjust the sugar content based on the sweetness of the peaches to achieve your desired level of sweetness.
