  • 6 cup fresh peaches peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches and lemon juice, and toss gently.
  • Add granulated sugar, 1/4 cup flour, and cinnamon to the peaches, then mix until well coated.
  • Transfer the peach mixture to the baking dish and spread evenly.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour, melted butter, and salt.
  • Stir the oat mixture until crumbly and evenly combined.
  • Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the peaches in the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
  • Remove from oven and let cool on a cooling rack for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

When preparing the peaches, ensure they are ripe but firm for the best texture. You can substitute canned peaches if fresh ones are not available, just make sure to drain them well. For an added twist, consider mixing in a handful of chopped nuts or a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the oat topping for extra flavor. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream to elevate the dessert experience.
