  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 Wooden spoon
  • 4 8-ounce jars with lids

Ingredients

  • 2 cups peaches peeled and finely chopped
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 pouch liquid fruit pectin (3 ounces)
  • 1/4 teaspoon butter optional

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped peaches, sugar, lemon juice, and butter.
  • Stir the mixture thoroughly until the sugar is fully dissolved and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • In the blender, puree the peach mixture until smooth.
  • Pour the pureed peaches back into the mixing bowl.
  • Stir in the liquid fruit pectin until well combined.
  • Let the mixture stand for another 3 minutes.
  • Pour the jam into the jars, leaving about 1/2 inch of space at the top.
  • Seal the jars with lids and let them sit at room temperature for 24 hours to set.
  • Store the jam in the freezer until ready to use.

Notes

For best results, make sure to use ripe peaches for the most flavor. If you prefer smoother jam, ensure a thorough blend of the mixture. The butter is optional but helps reduce foaming. This jam can last up to a year when stored in the freezer, and it should be refrigerated after opening.
