Equipment

  • 1 Baking dish
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 peeler
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 Measuring spoon
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 6 pears peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine pears, 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Pour the pear mixture into the baking dish.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Stir milk into the flour mixture until smooth.
  • Pour the batter over the pear mixture in the baking dish.
  • Drizzle melted butter evenly over the batter.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and pears are tender.
  • Allow the cobbler to rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of vanilla extract to the batter. If you prefer a less sweet cobbler, reduce the amount of sugar used with the pears. Serve the pear cobbler warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
