Equipment

  • 1 Grill or skillet
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 aluminum foil
  • 1 Small bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ribeye steak thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 onion thinly sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon butter softened

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season the thinly sliced ribeye steak with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  • Cook the steak slices on the grill or skillet for about 3-4 minutes until browned.
  • Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest, covered with aluminum foil.
  • In the same skillet, sauté the bell pepper and onion until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Slice the hoagie rolls and spread the softened butter on the inside.
  • Toast the hoagie rolls on the grill or skillet until golden brown.
  • Spread mayonnaise on the inside of each toasted hoagie roll.
  • Layer the cooked steak, sautéed peppers, and onions onto the hoagie rolls.
  • Top each sandwich with two slices of provolone cheese.
  • Return the sandwiches to the grill or skillet, cover, and cook until the cheese is melted.
  • Serve the sandwiches warm.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality ribeye steak and allow it to rest properly after cooking to redistribute the juices. You can customize the sandwich with additional toppings like mushrooms or hot peppers, and adjust the cheese type based on personal preference. Toasting the hoagie rolls ensures they don't become soggy from the steak juices.
