Equipment

  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 pastry brush
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 Knife

Ingredients

  • 1 piece pie crust dough store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the pie crust dough on a flat surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  • Brush the entire surface of the dough with melted butter.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
  • Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log.
  • Use a knife to slice the log into 1-inch pieces.
  • Place the slices on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure the pie crust is chilled before rolling it out, as this makes it easier to handle and creates flakier rolls. You can also add a drizzle of icing or a dusting of powdered sugar after baking for a sweeter finish. If you prefer a richer flavor, consider adding a touch of vanilla extract to the melted butter before brushing it onto the dough.
