Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices bread
  • 4 tablespoons pizza sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 8 slices pepperoni
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the skillet on medium heat.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on one side of each bread slice.
  • Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, onto the cutting board.
  • Spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on the unbuttered side of each slice of bread.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese evenly over the pizza sauce on each slice.
  • Layer 4 slices of pepperoni over the cheese on each sandwich.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of Italian seasoning on top of the pepperoni on each sandwich.
  • Top each sandwich with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
  • Place the sandwiches in the preheated skillet.
  • Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them rest for 2 minutes.
  • Slice the sandwiches in half and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use thick slices of bread to prevent the sandwich from becoming too soggy. You can customize your pizza sandwich by adding other toppings like bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives. Make sure to press down slightly on the sandwiches while cooking to ensure even grilling and melting of the cheese.
