Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 medium potatoes diced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 15 ounces
  • 1 cup carrots sliced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions
 

  • Heat the large pot over medium heat and add the ground beef.
  • Cook the ground beef until browned, stirring occasionally.
  • Drain excess fat from the pot.
  • Add the diced potatoes, diced tomatoes, sliced carrots, and chopped onion to the pot.
  • Pour in the water and stir to combine.
  • Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
  • Cover the pot and let the stew simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a thicker stew, use less water or add a tablespoon of flour mixed with cold water to the pot. You can adjust the seasoning to taste or add additional vegetables like peas or corn to enhance the flavor. This dish pairs well with crusty bread or a side salad.
