Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 4 cup apples peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • In a baking dish, layer the sliced apples evenly at the bottom.
  • Pour the pumpkin mixture over the apples, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and add rolled oats, brown sugar, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  • Spread the oat mixture evenly over the pumpkin-apple layer in the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes until the top is golden and the filling is bubbly.
  • Allow the crisp to rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of chopped pecans or walnuts to the oat topping before baking. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for a delicious dessert experience.
