Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Loaf pan
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Wire rack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the loaf pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, eggs, and sugar until well combined.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For the best texture and flavor, make sure not to overmix the batter as it can lead to a dense loaf. You can also use mini chocolate chips for a more even distribution, and feel free to add a handful of nuts or dried fruits for extra flavor and texture.
