  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Rubber spatula
  • 1 measuring cup set
  • 1 measuring spoon set
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree
  • 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix

  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, eggs, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice until smooth.
  • Pour the pumpkin mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the pumpkin mixture.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much as possible.
  • Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  • Allow the cake to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, make sure the butter is evenly distributed over the cake mix to achieve a perfectly crispy topping. You can also add a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for an extra touch of sweetness. Feel free to adjust the amount of pecans based on your preference or substitute with walnuts if desired.
