Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 Measuring spoon
  • 1 pastry brush

Ingredients

  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt.
  • Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry mixture and cut it in with a fork until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Gradually add the milk and stir until a soft dough forms.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, chopped parsley, and garlic powder.
  • Brush the butter mixture over the hot biscuits immediately after removing them from the oven.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

For the best results, ensure your butter is very cold before cutting it into the flour mixture, as this will help create flaky layers in the biscuits. If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, you can adjust the garlic powder in the dough or butter mixture to taste. Additionally, make sure not to overmix the dough to maintain a tender biscuit texture.
