Ingredients

  • 200 grams ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1 carrot julienned
  • 50 grams cabbage shredded

  • 50 milliliters water

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix the ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, julienned carrot, shredded cabbage, salt, and black pepper.
  • Soak a rice paper wrapper in warm water for 10 seconds until pliable, then lay it flat on a cutting board.
  • Place a spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of the rice paper.
  • Fold the sides of the rice paper over the filling, then roll it up tightly to form a dumpling.
  • Repeat with the remaining rice paper wrappers and filling.

  • Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet and heat until thickened, then use as a dipping sauce for the dumplings.

Notes

When preparing rice paper dumplings, ensure the rice papers are soaked just long enough to become pliable but not too soft, as they might tear. Working quickly and having all your ingredients prepared in advance will help in assembling the dumplings efficiently. Adjust the seasoning to your taste, and feel free to experiment with different fillings or spices to suit your preferences.
