Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Large pot
  • 1 Skimmer or slotted spoon
  • 1 plate

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 200 grams ground beef
  • 200 grams ground pork
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  • Add water, milk, and egg to the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, then let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • In another bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, onion, garlic, pepper, and paprika.
  • Roll out the dough to about 1/8-inch thickness using a rolling pin.
  • Cut the dough into circles using a round cutter or a glass.
  • Place a teaspoon of meat mixture in the center of each circle.
  • Fold the dough over the filling, pinching the edges to seal.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Carefully drop dumplings into the boiling water and cook for about 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove the dumplings using a skimmer or slotted spoon and place them on a plate.
  • Melt butter and pour over the dumplings, then serve with a dollop of sour cream.

Notes

For extra tips, ensure that the dough is well-rested to make it easier to roll out thinly, which is key for tender dumplings. When sealing the edges, make sure they are tightly closed to prevent the filling from escaping during cooking. Adjust seasoning to your taste, and consider adding a touch of dill for additional flavor.
