Spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice using the butter knife.
Place the lettuce leaves on one slice of bread.
Layer the salami slices evenly over the lettuce.
Add the cheese slices on top of the salami.
Arrange tomato slices over the cheese.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt and black pepper over the tomatoes.
Top with the second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down.
Cut the sandwich in half with the bread knife and serve immediately.

For an extra punch of flavor, consider adding a few slices of pickles or a dash of mustard to your sandwich. You can also lightly toast the bread before assembling the sandwich for added texture and warmth.
