  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 tablespoon

Ingredients

  • 1 pound salmon fillet skin removed
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup green onions finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1 tomato sliced

Instructions

  • Finely chop the salmon fillet into small pieces using a knife on a cutting board.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the salmon, breadcrumbs, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, lemon juice, green onions, salt, and black pepper.
  • Mix the ingredients until well combined and form the mixture into four equal patties.
  • Preheat the frying pan over medium heat and add olive oil.
  • Place the salmon patties in the frying pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the patties from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes on a baking sheet.

  • Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a salmon patty and a slice of tomato.
  • Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.

Notes

For the best flavor, ensure the salmon is fresh and not frozen before starting the recipe. To enhance the taste, you can add a pinch of smoked paprika or cayenne pepper to the salmon mixture for a bit of spice. Additionally, consider serving the burgers with a dollop of tartar sauce or a slice of avocado for extra creaminess.
