Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 measuring spoon set
  • 1 Whisk or wooden spoon
  • 1 Loaf pan
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar, then let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Add melted butter and salt to the yeast mixture and stir well.
  • Gradually add flour to the mixture, stirring until a dough begins to form.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  • Place the shaped dough into a greased loaf pan, cover, and let it rise again for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) during the final rise.
  • Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  • Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a cooling rack before slicing.

Notes

For the best texture, make sure your yeast is fresh and active by checking its frothiness after combining with warm water and sugar. If your dough is too sticky, add a little more flour as needed while kneading. Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing to ensure neat, clean cuts.
