Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 300 grams chicken breast minced
  • 1 egg
  • 50 grams tapioca flour
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 100 ml vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 tablespoon scallions chopped

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine minced chicken, egg, tapioca flour, minced garlic, salt, pepper, coriander powder, and chopped scallions.
  • Mix the ingredients until a smooth, even mixture is formed.
  • Divide the mixture into 10 equal portions.
  • Shape each portion around a skewer, forming a sausage-like shape.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the sempolan skewers until golden brown, turning occasionally to cook evenly.
  • Remove the skewers from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towel to drain excess oil.
  • Let the sempolan rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can serve Sempolan Ayam with a side of spicy sambal or sweet soy sauce. Make sure the oil is well-heated before frying to achieve a crispy outer layer. If you prefer a less oily option, you can also bake the skewers in the oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 20 minutes, turning halfway through.
