Equipment

  • 1 Large pot
  • 1 Wooden spoon
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 can opener

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cups potatoes diced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) corn drained
  • 1 can (15 ounces) green beans drained
  • 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Heat a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned, stirring occasionally.
  • Drain excess fat from the pot.
  • Add chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened.
  • Stir in diced potatoes, corn, green beans, and diced tomatoes.
  • Pour in water and stir to combine.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  • Remove from heat and let the stew rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider adding a bay leaf or two while the stew simmers, removing them before serving. You can also adjust the seasoning to taste by adding more Worcestershire sauce or spices like paprika or garlic powder. If you prefer a thicker stew, simply mash some of the potatoes against the side of the pot during cooking.
