Equipment

  • 1 Large pot
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 slotted spoon
  • 1 set Measuring cups
  • 1 set Measuring spoons
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Chef's knife

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup green onions chopped
  • 30 wonton wrappers
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon chili oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon green onions sliced for garnish

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, salt, ginger, garlic, and green onions.
  • Place 1 teaspoon of pork mixture onto each wonton wrapper and fold to seal.
  • Bring a large pot of chicken broth to a boil.
  • Add wontons to the boiling broth and cook for 5-7 minutes until they float.
  • Stir in chili oil, soy sauce, spinach, and rice vinegar into the broth.
  • Simmer for 1-2 minutes until spinach is wilted.
  • Ladle soup into bowls and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

Ensure the wonton edges are sealed tightly to prevent filling leakage during cooking. Adjust the level of spiciness by varying the amount of chili oil according to your taste preference. If you wish for a richer flavor, consider adding a dash of fish sauce or a sprinkle of white pepper to the broth before serving.
