Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Frying pan
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 pastry brush
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Spatula

Ingredients

  • 200 grams fresh spinach leaves washed and chopped
  • 150 grams feta cheese crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 package puff pastry thawed
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  • Add spinach to the pan and cook until wilted, then remove from heat and let cool.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked spinach, crumbled feta, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into squares.
  • Place a spoonful of the spinach and feta mixture onto each pastry square.
  • Fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle and press edges to seal.
  • Transfer the stuffed pastries to a baking sheet.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow pastries to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a crispier pastry, make sure the puff pastry is well-chilled before using, and do not overfill the squares to prevent leaking during baking. Additionally, you can experiment with adding herbs like dill or parsley to the filling for extra flavor.
