  • 1 pastry brush
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 package cream cheese 8 oz, softened
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 package frozen chopped spinach 10 oz, thawed and drained
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 sheets puff pastry thawed
  • 1 egg beaten for egg wash

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, spinach, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Lay out one sheet of puff pastry on a flat surface and spread half the spinach mixture evenly over it.
  • Roll the puff pastry tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal slices.
  • Repeat with the second sheet of puff pastry and remaining spinach mixture.
  • Place the pinwheels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush each pinwheel lightly with beaten egg.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure that the puff pastry remains cold until it is rolled to prevent it from becoming sticky and difficult to work with. Additionally, the spinach should be well-drained to avoid soggy pinwheels. These pinwheels can also be prepared a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator until ready to bake.
