Equipment

  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 set of measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 cup green onions chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro chopped

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, and lime juice.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the shrimp in the skillet.
  • Stir the shrimp to coat evenly with the sauce.
  • Add the chopped green onions and optional red pepper flakes, cooking for another minute.
  • Remove from heat and let the dish rest for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.

Notes

For best results, use fresh shrimp if available and adjust the level of red pepper flakes to suit your preferred level of spiciness. If you prefer a thicker sauce, consider reducing the sauce in the skillet for an additional minute or two before adding the shrimp. Serving with rice or noodles can help balance the flavors of the dish.
