  • 1 Baking dish
  • 1 grater or peeler
  • 1 Oven

Ingredients

  • 2 cup mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate shavings

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, heavy cream, and granulated sugar.
  • Add eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt to the sweet potato mixture and whisk until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into a baking dish and smooth the top.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes or until the custard is set.
  • Remove the dish from the oven and allow the custard to rest for 30 minutes.
  • Once the custard has cooled, use a grater or peeler to create white chocolate shavings.
  • Sprinkle the white chocolate shavings over the top of the custard before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure the sweet potatoes are thoroughly mashed to achieve a smooth custard texture. You can prepare the custard mixture in advance and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking. Adjust the sweetness to your preference by adding more or less sugar, and for a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg.
