Equipment

  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Measuring spoons 1 set
  • 1 spatula or tongs

Ingredients

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes washed and unpeeled
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Cut sweet potatoes into wedges by first halving them lengthwise, then cutting each half into 4-6 wedges.
  • Place sweet potato wedges in a mixing bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and dried thyme to the bowl.
  • Toss the wedges until they are evenly coated with the oil and seasonings.
  • Spread the wedges in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  • Flip the wedges over using a spatula or tongs.
  • Continue baking for another 20 minutes or until crispy and tender.
  • Remove from oven and let the wedges rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For the best results, make sure the sweet potato wedges are spread out evenly on the baking sheet to ensure even cooking and crispiness. Avoid overcrowding the pan, as this can lead to steaming rather than roasting. If needed, use two baking sheets or cook in batches. Adjust the seasoning to taste, and consider adding a sprinkle of fresh herbs after baking for added flavor.
