Equipment

  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Parchment paper
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Small saucepan
  • 1 Cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 Cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 1 Cup Heavy cream
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 16 Ounces Cream cheese softened
  • 1 Cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 Cups Fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1/4 Cup Strawberry jam
  • 1 Tablespoon Milk
  • 1 Egg beaten

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add cold cubed butter to the flour mixture and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract until just combined to form a dough.
  • Roll the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  • In another bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the rolled dough.
  • Layer fresh strawberry slices on top of the cream cheese mixture.
  • Roll the dough tightly from the long side to form a log and slice into 8 equal pieces.
  • Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet and brush with beaten egg.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While baking, heat strawberry jam and milk in a small saucepan until smooth.
  • Remove rolls from oven and let them rest on a cooling rack for 1 hour.
  • Drizzle the warm strawberry glaze over the cooled rolls before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure that the butter remains cold when mixing with the flour to achieve a flaky texture. Fresh, ripe strawberries will enhance the flavor of the rolls, and using a serrated knife when slicing helps maintain the shape of the rolls. Adjust the sweetness of the glaze to your liking by adding more or less powdered sugar.
