Equipment

  • 1 Bread Knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Skillet or Grill Pan
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 plate

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Ciabatta bread
  • 4 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 slices Mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices Tomato
  • 4 slices Prosciutto
  • 1 cup Arugula
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic glaze

Instructions

  • Slice the ciabatta loaf in half horizontally using the bread knife.
  • Drizzle olive oil on the cut sides of the ciabatta bread.
  • Preheat the skillet or grill pan over medium heat.
  • Place the ciabatta halves, cut side down, on the skillet and toast until golden brown.
  • Remove the bread from the skillet and place on a cutting board.
  • Layer mozzarella cheese, tomato slices, prosciutto, and arugula on the bottom half of the bread.
  • Drizzle balsamic glaze over the assembled ingredients.
  • Place the top half of the bread over the fillings to form a sandwich.
  • Cut the sandwich into desired portions and serve on a plate.

Notes

For added flavor, consider rubbing a clove of garlic on the toasted bread before assembling the sandwich. You can also add a spread like pesto or aioli for an extra burst of taste. If you prefer a warm sandwich, you can gently press the sandwich in a panini press to melt the cheese and warm the fillings.
