Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Skillet or Grill Pan
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 plate
  • 1 Meat thermometer optional

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese crumbled
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 burger buns

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, feta cheese, parsley, red onion, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix the ingredients until well combined but do not overmix.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the patties to the skillet or grill pan and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature of the burgers reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest on a plate for 5 minutes.
  • Serve the turkey feta burgers on buns with your choice of toppings.

Notes

When forming the patties, make a small indentation in the center of each burger to prevent them from puffing up while cooking. For added flavor, consider adding a squeeze of lemon juice to the mixture. If you prefer grilling, these burgers can also be cooked on an outdoor grill. Adding a bit of Greek yogurt or tzatziki sauce as a topping can enhance the Mediterranean flavors of the dish.
